Normal or Abnormal?

People are used to have normal friends. Friends that love going to parties and do random stuffs. Michael was just like these people. He considered himself a normal teen. He went to school at mornings and then did his homework at night. So there was no problem at all. One day he went to the beach with some of his best friends. But as usual, people from other places would come to where they were staying and make new friends. That Saturday afternoon Michael met Tom. Thomas was this idea of typical teenager but at the same time was not normal. At least that’s what Michael had as a first impression of Tom.
He felt curious about getting to know Thomas. Something told him to go around Thomas and try to make a friendship with him.  Michael could not understand that sensation. But anyways, he went and introduced himself to Thomas. Thomas was kind, polite, party guy. In other words he was normal. But the catch came when everyone would take a shot to toast and he didn’t.  And none of the other guys insisted Thomas to drink that shot. The other catch was when they were getting dinner and Thomas randomly cross himself and the only one who thought strange about that was Michael. Michael was really confused and wanted to know more about Thomas and somehow find out how he was a normal teen but at the same time not normal.
Michael was really curious so he asked to one of his closest friends about those weir moves that Thomas did earlier. The response he got was that Thomas is a catholic boy. That’s all he got. Deep inside Michael’s heart, he has always felt empty, like something really important was missing. After the trip to the beach, Michael sent a friend request on Facebook to Thomas and Thomas accepted it.  Facebook was where their friendship began and finally Michael dared to ask Thomas about all those things that he considered strange. Thomas briefly explained that he attended to a church and he was serving the community. Thomas invited Michael to join him one day and a service and see if he liked it.
Michael never felt sure about that invitation but Thomas never quitted insisting Michael to go. So one day Michael decided to go. When he arrived he was really nervous. He didn’t know what to expect and besides he believed he was going to be a stranger among all. When he finally entered the church he saw Thomas and Thomas saw him. So Thomas as the polite boy that Michael knew got close to him and found him a seat. Michael found out that there were other of his friends going to that church too, that made Michael feel comfortable. After the whole service, Michael had new thoughts about life and about Thomas. He thought that he could have a good life being just like Thomas was. Thomas was a good man, someone with strong values and thoughts and still can be cool. Michael loved that idea.
Thomas talked with Michael about all that and told him that if he was going to be attending he should really commit himself to that because that was not a game. So Michael returned to his house and couldn’t stop thinking about that guy Thomas. He really liked the life he was having and he wanted to live that way too. Michael was concern about that missing part in his life and liked the idea about God being he missing piece. Michael always thanks Thomas for giving him that opportunity and showing him a new meaning of life. Even though that was not a long time ago, it already made a difference in Michael’s life.  Michael has been inviting new people to attend the church and they have attended. Thomas was a miracle for Michael and Michael wants to be a miracle in the people he is inviting to attend the church. He never thought something amazing like that could happen to him. Thomas has become a really important person in Michael’s life and Michael will never get tired of thinking about that. He made two amazing friends, Thomas and God.
